Harmattan season - Protecting your Hair

We are nearing the harmattan season though every where where I am in Lagos seems so hot. I am not understanding.
When it comes, the weather will be so dry and dusty as always, therefore, we need to protect our hair from loosing moisture. We will also need to increase the frequency of wash days due to dust accumulation.
If our hair is not taken care of properly during this period, it can get dry and brittle, resulting in breakage. That's one scary word to we naturalistas, right?
If you want to do protective hairstyles such as braids, twists,
locs, wigs and so on, you go on girl.
As for me, I will be leaving my hair out during this period so there is easy access to take off grime and dirt, plus there isn't really time for me to go to the salon (busy...busy...busy...)
So....., here are the products/tools I intend using to protect my hair.
cisca kinks
  • Satin cap (right hand side)
  • Head warmer/beanie - I got one big enough to cover my head even when its in a bun
  • Spray bottle - contents of my spray bottle are here
  • Shea butter - That tub is almost finished, need to get another. the Shea butter will help seal in moisture.
  • My blend of carrier oils.

Let me know how y'all are going to protect your hair this coming harmattan season.
Till next time,

'Cisca O.
