Product Review - Fruit of the earth Aloe vera

Hi beautiful people,
I bring to you the Fruit of the earth aloevera gel and some of you may already know this product. I am not a fan of the raw aloe vera gel because of one timeee...in my battle with acne. I peeled the skin off of the aloe vera plant, scooped the gel out and applied it on my face. Unaware of the taste and being a nail biter๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ™ˆ which I am still struggling to push aside, I made the mistake of putting it in my mouth. Since then, I have been aloevera-phobic (the natural one of course).
So here is my review of this version.

Ingredients:
Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) Gel, Triethanolamine, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Carbomer 940, Tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Diazolidinyl Urea.

Claim:
Cooling soothing gel from nature's miracle plant of the ages.  Made with the most concentrated amount of  fresh Aloe Vera leaves on the market, this cooling gel, forms a protective barrier which helps retain moisture and promotes healing.  Non-oily moisturizer provides effective relief from sunburn, minor burns, skin irritations, insect bites, chafing, itching, dry skin.

Aloevera itself has a lot of health benefits both internally and externally (hair and skin) but lets get on with the external benefits.
For hair and skin:
  • Aloevera gel can help with a lot of hair issues such as dandruff due to its moisturising properties.
  • High in vitamins and minerals such as Vitamins A, B, C , Magnesium, Iron, Potassium etc beneficial to your hair and skin.
  • It contains amino acids that can strengthen and add shine to your hair.
  • Improves overall health of the scalp.
  • Reduces inflammation.
  • Contains aloin and emodin which have antibacterial and antiviral properties beneficial to your hair and skin.
My take:
I got the fruit of the earth aloe vera gel as an alternative to use both as a leave-in (mixed with water and some oils) and a styling gel (edge control purposes). The moisturizing part worked for me but when I tried using it on my hair directly, it left it dry and kinda flaky so no more.  I also use it in my D..I.Y Deep conditioning mix (detailed recipe here).
I may have to revisit the use of the natural aloe vera because I want to go all N A T U R A L (I should go learn how to grow mine).
But I definitely like the Fruit of the earth Aloe vera gel as a substitute.

Igbocurls also gave us a video on how to extract and prepare the Natural aloevera gel.

Till next time,
