10-MINUTE HAIRSTYLE TUTORIAL FROM AN OLD TWIST

Hey lovelies, how's the day, week, month, year going?
So I decided to do a pictorial of this quick hairstyle I did on an old twist while preparing to attend a wedding. It is very very simple and works on medium length to long natural hair but extensions may be added to short natural hair to create this style. So in order to get a really full hairstyle, it should be done on a twist or braid out hair.

Let's begin!
Tools you will need; rat-tail comb, stretchy hair band, bobby pins.

This is my hair in the twists. The first thing I do is remove the hair accessory, then I apply Natural Nigerian grapeseed oil to my hair in twists so I can unravel it easily and avoid tangles. Grape seed oil is a very light oil and doesn't cause build up (it also has many other benefits) so this should be among your staple carrier oils.

I unravel the twists carefully and after doing that, I make sure to separate the twists to create a fuller hairstyle. The hair should be divided into three (front, middle and back).

For the front section, a pompadour is created. The loose hair is taken and twirled around the ends then pinned down. This gives a loose and full look.
The mid section is tied into a bun with a hair band. Please do not attempt to use rubber bands for this. Your curly or coily hair strands will always find a way to wrap itself around it leading to possible breakage.
Divide the back section into two, take the first half and place it underneath the bun like you want to wrap the bun with it and use your bobby pins to hold it down. Do the same for the second half of the back sectioned hair.

And you are all done with the hair style.
For finishing touches, get your hair-tooth brush or soft boar bristle brush to sleek down your edges with a heavy oil like castor oil, heavy butter like shea butter or your favorite hair gel.
This is a video I recorded while styling the hair, so press PLAY. Please don't forget to subscribe to my YOUTUBE channel while you are at it😘😘.
